6:01 am - Femmegasm Update: 11/19/09
Pump It Up

Oh man, I did a comic about Inflation, what have I gotten myself into this time. You guys remember when I decided to tackle the rather odd and disturbing topic of vore, right? Well, now I decided it's time to talk about another disturbing internet fetish called inflation. Nooo... it doesn't have to do with our government or taxes, it has to do with inflating women like balloons or varieties of this. Sometimes it can be just inflating the entire female, sometimes just parts of her (ie breasts and/or ass), sometimes it's just about women getting fat from eating a lot, sometimes it about pregnancy, and sometimes it has to do with inflating a woman until she explodes. Either way it's several shades of disturbing.

I mean, seriously, does any of that sound remotely attractive? I guess I can see some humor in inflating a woman's chest, mainly because some artists tend to make breasts look like balloons to begin with, but to find it actually attractive? That's kinda' fucked up, if you ask me. I mean, if that's your thing, ummm... go enjoy it. But to me it seems the total opposite of attractive, and I don't see how anyone can get off on it. Personally I'll stick to my wife for getting me off... uninflated, I might add. ;)

My lovely wife, Devan, sculpted this awesome little shelly outta' clay at The Dallas Webcomic Expo. It was so awesome that I think it got more attention than anything else at my table. Now if only molding Shelly out of clay would allow her to come to life... like Wonder Woman.

2:05 am - They're The Archies In A Brand New Show... in the 80s
Thanks to my awesome colorist, Chris, I got to relive another cartoon from my youth, The New Archies, and man, is it bad. Other than redesigning The Archies characters into 80s era Jr. High School students, Dic Animation shoehorns them into everything past storyline they've written for other cartoons they've done... rather badly.

The animation is rather "meh", not terrible, but not great either. It does seem to do some random weird animation, like one episode I watched had Jughead randomly go from happy to scowling for no apparent reason, and it's a sudden change too, so it's a rather choppy piece of animation, like it was supposed to be cut out and wasn't.

The writing is pretty rancid too, like I said before it's pretty much Dic recycling stories they used in previous shows, but it doesn't even feel like their trying to do a good job. All the episodes feel rushed, choppy, and end abruptly (and sometimes even confusingly or without closure).

Lastly let's talk about the characters. I used to read the hell out of The Archies when I was a kid, so I know way more about them than I care to (for the record Jughead was and is my favorite character, this honestly should be a surprise to no one). The characters in this version are totally flat and unlikable and really just don't feel like they do much other than just have one personality trait. Archie is bland, Jughead is lazy, Reggie is selfish, Veronica is a bitch, and Betty is equally as bland as Archie. So not only did Dic strip all the characters down to their most basic of basic characteristics, but they actually managed to make Veronica into even more of an obnoxious bitch than she was in the original comics. Seriously, I have trouble going through one of these episodes and not want to punch her in the face, and thanks to her shitty redesign, she doesn't have the factor of being hot to counteract my desire for face punching like she does in the normal Archie comics. Speaking of Veronica's horrible new looke, I should mention the character designs are also terrible, I mean, I know it was the 80s, but... DAMN. They really overdid it. It feels like they are trying to force feed as much 80s into this show as possible and ended up making designs so 80s it actually fucking hurts to look at them. I mean, seriously, I don't think Veronica's outfit remotely looks anything close to fashionable... even in the 80s. I think they were trying a bit too hard in this one.

Anyways, have an episode and judge for yourself.

4:51 am - Femmegasm Update: 11/17/09
Musical Moe

Guess what fandom I've recently taken interest in? What? Don't know? Vocaloid!

What's Vocaloid, you ask? Well, I put a wiki link up there for a reason, fool. :p But to make a long story short, it's a set of Japanese programs that produce a synthesized voice that can sing and say whatever you want. To make this even more interesting, each version of the program has a different voice and different character applied to them. Each character has their own personalities, and then there's sub and fan characters created by changing settings on one of the previous programs. In short, it's crazy awesome.

Anyways the programs and characters are really popular and thus fans have made various music videos using the programs and characters. Here's a few of my favorites (though Teto technically isn't a Vocaloid, she seems to be accepted as one by the fans):

Youtube vids a plenty )

So with all these cute and well designed characters, awesomely advanced voice synth program, and amazing fan videos, it's REALLY hard not to become a fan of the mass amount of Vocaloid stuff out there. Now if I can just decide on my favorite character. Currently I'm quite fond of Miku, Neru, Teto, and Gumi.

Also it might be a good idea for me to mention that Gumi isn't actually the newest Vocaloid, I think the newest one is Sonika. However Sonika's character design is terrible and her voice isn't as good as a lot of the previous Vocaloids in my opinion, so I decided to use Gumi instead. So sue me.

Now the Levan Polkka is another bag of worms. Said song had become insanely popular thanks to that insane Leek Spin Bleach animation that had been going around the net for quite sometime (and referenced by Shelly in a previous strip). Well Vocaloid Miku did a cover of this song complete with leek driving the song's popularity on the net even further. It's so popular that now all the Vocaloids have practically done the song, even the ones that don't have their own program (like Neru and Haku) or are part of a different program (like Teto). So it seems impossible for any of the Vocaloid characters to NOT do the Levan Polkka. Thus the inspiration for this comic.

So Vocaloid is awesome. Check it out sometime.

PS. EBAY!
