Yeah, G1 introduced a ton of characters right off the bat (especially in season 2), but they did at least assign a personality to them, so you at least know what the character was like and whether or not you liked them. Heck, even most the characters (even the B-list ones) got at least one episode dedicated to them. So to me, considering how rushed the original cartoon was and the fact it was an 80s Saturday Morning Cartoon, they at least attempted to give all the characters a personality or a little development, which is pretty admorable considering how many characters Hasbro tended to throw on the writers.

This movie just felt like they had them just for the sake of having them and nothing else.
