    Oh, China...
You don't have truth in advertising laws like we do, you really don't...

This may not be safe for work, depending where you work. But it is HILARIOUS.

One, I can't stop laughing at the fact the device is called God's Hand, and two, I can't stop laughing every time the bosoms magically grow. Three, I can't stop laughing at the fact that all these high powered supposedly classy women are running around in tops that show their bras for all to see; dudes aren't checking out their boobage, they are stunned that these women are showing off their lingerie like Girls Gone Wild.

Writer's Block: Just another manic Monday

Do you look forward to returning to work/school on Mondays or do you live for the weekend? What do you enjoy most about weekends? What do you dread most about school and/or work?

    View 691 Answers

Monday means going back to work on comics and cartooning, with which I have a real love/hate relationship. Sometimes I look forward to drawing another week of "World of Fizz" comics. Sometimes I don't.

But I always look forward to the weekend. I get to hang out with my friends in the flea market, which I really enjoy. It really lets me unwind after what can sometimes be a tough week.

Batman recruited a teenager with attitude.
    Shortpacked!@TNI: It's head-in-a-jar time!
Shortpacked!: Her, uh, anatomy makes slightly more sense than Blackarachnia's.

Hello!  Everyone and their mother emailed me asking about the lineart for the Mike/Amber Smoochy-Smoochy strip.  Well, you can have it!  But you'll have to fight each other for it first.  That's right, it's auction time.

As usual, it's on 12"x18" art paper, was rendered in blue pencil and Copic brush marker, and comes to you rolled in a mailing tube.  Add it to your collection!  Or start one.  I'm not fussy.

    Auction ends in 5 days.

So, like, even back before I started getting all the Batman guys from DC Universe Classics, I kinda coveted their Robin.  It was my favorite Robin design ever!  It kinda helps that Tim Drake's One-Year-Later-through-Batman-RIP outfit was based on hisNew Batman Adventures look, sure.  You know me and my Bruce Timm designs.  I liked that the green is dropped and he's just a red, black, and yellow guy.  But the comic takes it a bit further and draws him closer thematically to Batman's motif.  He's got a scalloped cape, for instance.  And those little tufts on his gloves.  And, oh, hey, pockets on his belt!  He's like a mini-Batman with red.  It kinda makes sense, don't it?

I passed it up at the time because I wasn't collectingDCUC, but I am now!  So, yay, an excuse to get him.  And the fun thing is, BigBadToyStore still had him in stock for non-secondary-market prices!  (they don't seem to any more)  And so I was just a day or so away from just going ahead with the whole thing and ordering him when I found that damn Robin at our local Target.  Just sitting there on the shelf.  What?  Okay.  Well.  I guess miracles do happen.

Robin joins my Batman in punching villains now.  Sometimes he even gets the punching!  (Okay, most of the time.  He's only second behind the Riddler.)  The toy comes with a few accessories.  He's got his martial arts staff that Tim Drake likes to carry around and two Batarangs.  (Robinorangs?  Birdorangs?)  I kinda wish he could store the -rangs in some of his pockets.  But no, they'll probably just get lost.  I prefer the staff.  He also comes with a stand, as he's not part of the "build-a-figure" deal.

I'm grateful that there's a smaller, teenager-sized body-type for Robin to be.  It just wouldn't do, being the size of everyone else.  Plus, y'know, I guess it'd come in handy for the rest of the Teen Titans.

Anyway, speaking of Power Rangers, you know how they all wore color-coded outfits when they were in their civilian identities?  Red Ranger wore red, Pink ranger wore pink, etc?  Robin totally did that in the very early comics, I noticed, as I've been reading through my Batman Chronicles collections.  Dick Grayson is always in a yellow collared shirt under a red sweater and green pants.  Wow, that's a bit conspicuous.  Batman probably color-coded his civvies, too, but blue and gray formal wear is a lot less outlandish.

Words and Pictures (but mostly pictures)
I've been re-reading my Usagi Yojimbo collections, and decided that I would continue to read through all of my back issues, to get the whole tale in total. That meant figuring out where my issues began in relation to where my collections ended, so that I could have the whole story to read. That turned out to show that I needed three volumes, although the third one would overlap slightly with my back issues. Accordingly, I made a purchase from Amazon tonight:

    Grasscutter, Usagi Yojimbo vol 12
Grey Shadows, Usagi Yojimbo vol 13
Demon Mask, Usagi Yojimbo vol 14
Agatha Heterodyne and the Chapel of Bones, Girl Genius vol 8
    The Complete Peanuts 1963-1964

I almost bought Through the Wild Blue Wonder, the Complete Pogo vol 1 and The Complete Bloom County vol 1, but my order was getting expensive enough.

I also looked through my Bone back issues and collections to see what I need, and it turns out I only need a single back issue (#38) to complete that run. Rather than buy a collection, or the 1,100-page Complete Bone I think I'll look for that single issues.

    • 09:18:53: @UnknownKadath Genus *is* going to be a semi-annual perfect bound book. The next one is scheduled and solicited for January. :D
    • 09:19:36: @UnknownKadath Just think of it like a doujinshi, like Book of the Beast for America, since that's the basic format plan.
    • 09:20:32: I have not had nearly enough sleep, but I at least got to see some anime last night with friends. Had to charge my phone though...

Damn kids! Get off mah lawn!
So I decide to check out Phantasy Star Universe after about a year of not being on. I decide to start a new character because it's boring playing a fully leveled character.

I'm still having a blast. Almost forgot how fun the game is and how it's almost like the perfect MMO for the casual player. The controls almost completely came back for me naturally. And I'm remembering how much fun it is. Even reacquainted myself with a couple friends from there.

    Tonight, not so much.

So's I'm hanging out at the Guardian Colony and made the observation that the servers are vastly underpopulated these days, to which some girl with the online name of Val starts going on about how "complainers" like me are the reason there's no players around (the GM's told allegedly told her so). Anyways she starts going on a condescending rampage talking about how her uncle works at Sega and how I don't know anything because I'm just a lvl 20 (God forbid people have more than one character and I been playing since April of 07).

Good grief, I know it's probably just some know-nothing knowitall teenager, but good fucking lord, did she ever get under my skin. Reminded me of some of the fuckwits from the old Sonic newsgroups I used to hang out on in the late 1990's.

Ah well. It's gonna be a shame when Sega shuts down the servers due to the dwindling player base.

    BTW, here's my new character.

    Flea market stuff
So I took my Marge Simpson Playboy to the flea market to show the guys in the toy booth. They really dug it. The booth owner was rather surprised the cartoonists went as far with Marge as they did.

I also traded in a few of my Transformers as well. They weren't doing anything but collecting dust on my shelf anyway. Got about $10 out of them, which I pocketed. Might go in tomorrow and buy these gashapon figures I've had my eye on. Of course, if I had any sense, I would have got them when I was there earlier. Ah well. They'll still be there tomorrow.

    Christmas Cards
I said I was going to go to bed, but I got distracted.

There are better things on my mind. Like CHRISTMAS CARDS.

I will somehow find the time between school and work to pick up my poor, dust covered (I've not touched it since AFest) Sony.

I've got a couple of ideas, BUT. The important thing with this is gimme yer mailing addresses and let me know if you want a card. CAARD.

You can't deny the love and the happiness of the holiday season~~

(I also don't mind if you can't send one in return. I love sending cards. cards cards cards. *_*)

    Also- have last year's card:

    Lawrence of Arabia
I just finished watching "Lawrence of Arabia" about a half hour ago. I don't need to go into detail about what a perfectly excellent film it is. But it is easily my favourite film of all-time. OF ALL-TIME.

And with the trend of remaking old films, whether good or bad, they better leave this one alone. If I ever hear of anyone doing a remake of the film, I will personally remake their genitals. You just don't mess with masterpieces like this.
